PhotoToFilm can help you create slideshows out of your photographs. Although the application is rather easy to use, it’s not thanks to the interface, which leaves a lot to be desired. In my opinion, putting all the elements and options in the same main window is not a good decision in this case. In this respect, a wizard-like interface would be more desirable.
The program does many things that are available from other similar tools. First, after adding the pictures, you can use a cross-fading transition between them. Besides, you can add an audio track to serve as background for your video. You can also add captions to the slides. Once you´ve finished editing, you can save the video in any of the multiple codecs available. Moreover, if you install the needed add-on, you can also burn the video to disc.
All in all, PhotoToFilm is absolutely no match for other similar software. First, the range of input picture formats is limited to JPG and BMP. Second, it doesn´t allow using multiple transition effects or setting individual times for each picture. Third, although it allows setting an output resolution, HD is not supported. Finally, you cannot import regular subtitle files. My advice: for similar or even better results, you can use Microsoft PowerPoint, which allows exporting a presentation in video format.
GTS Photo Digital - very useful when it comes to digital photography.
